New homes may be created in Somerset

The amount of property for sale in Somerset may increase if plans for
more dwellings get the go-ahead.
Developer Persimmon Homes wants to construct more than 50 abodes in
the county, Burnham-On-Sea.com reports.
The proposals are centred on a former landfill site in
Burnham-On-Sea.
In a new development, local planning case officer Rob Morgan has
recommended the idea for approval and Sedgemoor District Council's
development control committee is due to meet to discuss the
initiative in the near future.
Mr Morgan commented: "The proposal involves the development on a
site which has been allocated for residential development since
1990 and is shown as committed for residential development in the
Sedgemoor District Local Plan."
He added that as well as homes, Persimmon's ideas include
provisions for things such as cycleway links, public safety works
and contributions towards a public open space in the local area,
which is situated in the south-west of England.
